The brief

Specialist equipment takes on a different role when people can build it for themselves. For Struers, we turned Xmatic and Xmatic Compact into two kits that put its product range at the center of the experience. The machines provide the subject, while the build gives people time to engage with the brand. It is a practical way to open a conversation about equipment usually encountered in a laboratory.

We developed each machine as a separate model using original LEGO® elements. The recognizable Struers identity carries through the build, with enough product detail to connect the miniature to the real equipment. Keeping both versions in the range gives the project the same family relationship as the machines themselves.

The branded box and printed booklet extend that product story through the whole kit, from opening it to the completed model on a desk. Struers began with 94 kits and returned with further orders, taking the total to 386 across the two models. The result is a repeatable brand format with the company’s own products at its heart.
