The brief

Aeris has a specific job in a laboratory: X-ray diffraction analysis. Our task was to give the Malvern Panalytical instrument another role, as a model people can build and keep. We translated the equipment into original LEGO® elements, making the product itself the starting point for a physical connection with the brand.

The challenge is recognition at a much smaller scale. We kept the instrument's overall form and product identity clear, with printed details carrying the Malvern Panalytical and Aeris names into the build. The miniature gives people a way to spend time with the product's design, even when the full-size instrument belongs on a laboratory bench.

A printed box and instruction booklet carry that same identity through the kit. Opening it, assembling the instrument and finding a place for the finished model all revolve around Aeris. For a company whose work is highly specialized, this format offers an accessible point of entry: a small, recognizable version of the technology behind the name.
