The brief

Brand Addition, a promotional products agency in the UK, brought us this one for their client Google DeepMind. The kit is built around Move 37, the move AlphaGo played in its 2016 match against Lee Sedol.

We built a Go board on a stand, with a game laid out in black and white pieces. It comes to 330 pieces, with a box in a dark grid design, a printed booklet and a card.

A sample went out in March and the client built it the same week. We adjusted the box size after that and moved into production. About 1,590 kits went to Brand Addition on pallets in June, in time for an opening at Google DeepMind on June 26, and the rest followed.
