The brief

Autodesk wanted a quick build for Autodesk University 2026. Attendees would race to put a kit together, and the fastest builders would win. The model is the Autodesk symbol, and they asked us to call it the Autodesk Build Kit rather than a logo kit, since the symbol is not the full logo.

The symbol sits on a base in Autodesk's Hello Yellow. Their brand rules don't allow that yellow on white, so the box went dark, black with the yellow base in the middle. The A6 booklet uses large step pages, so it reads well on an iPad during the challenge.

For anyone who beat the target time we also made 75 minifigures holding a trophy and 75 white bricks printed with WINNER.

The 300 kits went to Chicago, Las Vegas and California. The first 20 left early for a social media teaser with customers, and later the team sent us a Reddit thread with videos of it.
