The brief

Explaining identity security calls for a clear way into an abstract subject. Working with ASTOUND Group for Okta, we created a promotional mailer built around a city that changes as the recipient assembles it. The building experience carries the message, giving the reader something to do as well as something to understand.

The instructions lead through buildings, a surrounding wall and a gate, then introduce changes to the city's protection. This sequence was part of the client's brief, with revisions to keep the wording and illustrations aligned. We translated that story into a physical scene made from original LEGO® elements.

The project also included custom packaging and instructions, keeping the story together from opening the mailer to completing the build. Correspondence records interest from additional Okta teams and requests for more kits. The city gives the campaign a reusable visual idea, while its changing construction makes the security message part of the activity itself.
